The Challenge:

WATERCOM struggled with frequent voltage fluctuations, particularly voltage swells and sags, which resulted in:

Premature failure of machine components
Unplanned production interruptions
Increased operational costs due to unscheduled maintenance

ABB’s Technology and Our Expertise:

To combat these issues, WATERCOM installed two 450kVA ABB PCS100 AVC-40 Active Voltage Conditioners on its 40,000 BPH CSD filling line. The installation and commissioning were carried out by HPV Electrical Company Ltd, certified and authorized by ABB to deploy this cutting-edge technology.

The Outcome:

Commissioned in June 2021 by our HPV Electrical team, the two 450kVA PCS100 AVC-40 units effectively eliminated the voltage fluctuations that previously plagued WATERCOM’s facility. According to the Operations Manager and Head of the Electrical Department, the new system has mitigated machine failures and significantly reduced production interruptions.

The success of our pilot project with WATERCOM led to the confident approval from their management to integrate ABB’s PCS100 AVC-40 into their filling lines and PET machines. To date, in collaboration with ABB, we have successfully installed and commissioned over 12 units of various sizes, with additional installations currently underway.
